10,000 Roses

Tuesday, April 7th from 4:00pm to Wednesday, April 8th, 2015 9:00pm

About

The UT White Rose Society's annual event, 10,000 Roses, is Tuesday April 7th and Wednesday, April 8 this year and we would really appreciate your help by taking part and volunteering!

About the event:We distribute ten thousand white roses across campus to represent the number of people who were killed in Auschwitz every day during the Holocaust, which is equal to about one in five of the UT undergraduate population. We want to bring awareness to genocides in the past and present, and this is a powerful way to do just that!

Why we NEED your help:Handling 10,000 roses is a huge undertaking and we need all the help we can get! Keep in mind that anything helps. So, if you can only be there for half an hour, an hour or whatever for either day, that would still be a great contribution to the event!

On Tuesday, we will prepare the roses from 4-9 pm at the University Catholic Center (on 21st so super close to campus!!). We need to de-thorn the roses and attach cards that explain the event. We are more than willing to provide volunteer hours to whoever needs them. There will also be FREE pizza and t-shirts!! (A kosher for Passover option will also be provided)

On Wednesday, we will also need volunteers to distribute the roses at various locations around campus. We will be handing them out between 12 pm-5 pm or until they are all distributed.
