Organization Information: The Spokane County DUI Victims Panel brings together DUI victims and court-ordered offenders in a setting in which the offenders are compelled to learn about the terrible losses people suffer as a result of impaired driving. This encounter is thought to evoke a powerful and permanent impression in the offender of the dangers of impaired driving and lead to a change in attitude toward driving after drinking or taking drugs. Opportunity Description: Registration Volunteers will help DUI Victims Panel attendees with the sign-in process.Days/Times: DUI Victims Panels are held the first and third Thursday evening of every month from 6:00 PM to 9:00PM. Students helping with registration are needed from 6:30pm to 7:15pm. The students will also be helping with passing out paperwork at the end. Location: The DUI Victims Panels are held at the Spokane Public Works Building at 1026 W. Broadway, Spokane, WA. Metered street parking, as well as, some lots are available.Requirements:Application: required by calling Linda Thompson at 509-922-8383.Clothing: Students are under no circumstances allowed to wear clothing with alcohol or drug themes. Other Requirements: Students are responsible for bringing a Record of Civic Engagement Form to each time they are on site or at the community agency where they are serving. Additionally, students are required to obtain the appropriate signature from their community partner supervisor. Students can pick up a blank form at the CCE office (CUB LL48) on the main WSU Campus or online here. Completed hours may be submitted online here.
