Description

Position Description:

Public Allies interns will report to the Program Managers of the site. The program intern will be responsible for helping to implement the site recruitment strategy and Pathways/Alumni Outreach.

Programmatic Support:
● Support staff in advancing year-long recruitment strategy to ensure a diverse pool of

prospective allies for 2020-2021 program year cycle
○ Recruitment materials can be found in the Public Allies folder under recruitment

○ Recruitment information specific to Public Allies can be found under portal using a staff members username and password. Then Link to the local site guide and then member recruitment, selection, and retention

  • ●  Assist staff with planning and logistics for candidate matching fair, candidate interview days, graduation and other Ally and partner events

    • ○  Matching fair and candidate interview days information can be found in the recruitment guide

    • ○  Member graduation (End of the Year Celebration) information can be found in the Public Allies folder in the communications & marketing folder under events

    • ○  Other Ally and Partner events staff should let you know in advance and give you information on how to prepare for that event

  • ●  Utilize social media to engage candidates, partners, and community stakeholders

    • ○  All social media passwords can be found in the Public Allies folder under

      operations

    • ○  Look through past tweets, instagram, and facebook posts to get a feel for the

      voice we are putting out in the community

  • ●  Support Allies in their individual development by identifying and connecting them to

    resources and opportunities to achieve their programmatic and personal goals

    Alumni Reengagement:

  • ●  Reengage and reconnect Alumni to program via donations, trainings, and recruitment

    support.

  • ●  Create the foundations for PADC Alumni Board

    Ally and Partner Organization Support:

  • ●  Complete administrative duties related to Ally and Partner organization management

  • ●  This can include creating, maintaining and closing files

    Events Planning and Support:

● Assist staff with planning and logistics for events ● Retreats

Working conditions:

The position is generally performed in an office environment. The noise level is generally low to quiet. Everyone in the office is very friendly and willing to help you on any task necessary. The office is an open space. Everyone working at Public Allies has a passion for helping people and that is shown in our workplace. The staff has many ideas and ideals and is very open to a collaborative work environment. Conversations regarding social justice issues and current events are encouraged. The staff encourages a growth mindset and opinions and thoughts are gladly noted and respectfully listened to.
