About
The Office of Disability Prevention for Children (ODPC) is seeking Central Texas volunteers to assist program staff with local and statewide education and public awareness initiatives related to the prevention of intellectual and developmental disabilities in children. We are centrally located in Austin and offer flexible hours to fit your schedule. Central Texas volunteers can help out from home while our offices are temporarily closed due to current public health situation. Our volunteers receive training, as well as ongoing support and recognition.
- Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.
- Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.
Texas Health & Human Services volunteers are required to complete an application, as well as a 1-hour online agency orientation. ODPC volunteers also complete a 1-hour training regarding the program’s history, focus areas, and functions.
