About

Looking to make an ongoing commitment to a park? Our Adopt-a-Park program may be a perfect fit! Click "Register" to fill out an Adopt-a-Park application and we will give you a call to talk more about the program to see if it the best option for your group.

Adopt-a-Park is a volunteer program where the Clearwater Parks and Recreation Department partners with local organizations to help keep our city safe, clean, and beautiful.  Any community group that wants to make a difference in their community can participate in the Adopt-a-Park program. We welcome businesses, churches, schools, neighborhood associations, civic groups, families, clubs and other service related organizations.

The City of Clearwater boasts more than 50 community parks that require a tremendous amount of resources to maintain and consistently improve. To assist in helping to maintain the high standards our residents and visitors expect, we are inviting the community’s participation. Your Adopt-a-Park partnership will help our environment, our community, and your quality of life!

Program participants agree to perform cleanups two times each year, to remove litter and debris, as well as vegetation removal, invasive removal and trimming, with the guidance of city staff, over a two-year adoption period.
Benefits
-- Groups and businesses share an increased pride in their community and a heightened sense of ownership.
-- Your group or organization is credited on Adopt-a-Park signage at your adopted park’s location.
-- Participants are listed on the City of Clearwater Parks and Recreation Adopt page, mentioned in the Email Volunteer Newsletter, and in the MyClearwater Magazine.

Once You Are Approved
  • Please communicate with the volunteer manager of the dates your group schedules your projects for in order to ensure there are no conflicts and to schedule trash pick up. The city of Clearwater will provide trash bags, gloves, and report forms. Please be sure to submit the cleanup report to the volunteer manager following the project. This will track the hours and amount of trash compiled.
