About

Understand (PEG 2) Opportunity

New data suggest that over 50 million people in the U.S. are experiencing food insecurity due to the global pandemic and economic crisis.  U.S. food insecurity rates have doubled with Black and Latinx families, who are now more than twice as likely to struggle with food as White families.

And yet, despite the enormity of this problem, ending hunger in in this country is within our grasp. We have the resources and we know the right tools to use to make hunger a thing of the past—what's missing are bold leaders who understand the systems that contribute to hunger who can lead the changes necessary to eliminate hunger for good.

The Bonner Foundation invites you to participate in the Congressional Hunger Center’s End Hunger in 30 Challenge, a 30-day course on U.S. hunger, its causes, and its solutions.  Starting in March, participants will receive daily email prompts and 30-minute mini-lessons, diving into the basics, the drivers of hunger, anti-hunger policy, and effective advocacy.

To participate, take the following steps:

  1. Registration is free, so enroll in the course named “Bonner-End Hunger in 30 Challenge- March 1.”  Once at the login site, click "New Here" to create an account. Then add the Bonner challenge to your list.

  2. Next, add the email address hello@endhungerin30.org to you address book. Starting on March 1 (or thereafter if you enroll in March), you’ll receive a daily email prompting you to access the day’s learning content.
