About

All levels of birding experience are welcome. This will be a good opportunity to practice and expand birding skills.

A small group of volunteers will identify and count bird species in riparian, woodland, prairie, and marsh habitats of the Cibolo Nature Center campus. A separate tally list for each habitat will be submitted to eBird (online database administered by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology).

Volunteers will meet at the Cibolo Nature Center Pavilion at 8am on dates indicated, survey wraps up by 11:30am.  CDC guidelines are followed. There will be several miles of walking on generally flat ground with some possible stair steps. Please bring binoculars and dress for the field with long pants, sturdy shoes, a hat, and sun protection. The walking route will be about 2-2.5miles and will cover all habitat on the Cibolo Nature Center Campus.

This survey is jointly sponsored by Bexar Audubon Society and Cibolo Center for Conservation and is approved for Alamo and Hill Country Master Naturalist volunteer hours. The survey leader will be a member of Bexar Audubon Society.
