Join your fellow Austinites and park lovers and help us clean up our lake! Volunteers will have the opportunity to select from cleaning up the park space around Rowing Dock on-land or getting into a kayak and cleaning up trash along Lady Bird Lake. Rowing Dock will offer two different shift start times, one beginning at 10am and the second at 1pm. When you select your desired shift time, please ensure you also select whether you’d prefer the on-land or on-lake volunteering activity.
Each shift will last two hours, and volunteers will receive a complimentary trash bag, gloves, and grabbers. Upon your return, a Rowing Dock team member will weigh your trash bag, snap a pic and add it to our roster. As a thank you for your contribution, we’ll give you an additional free one-hour rental pass for each full bag of trash you bring to use on any future occasion.
In light of the current COVID pandemic, project registration will be limited so please only register if you are certain you can participate, and if something changes between registration and the event, please let us know so we can open that spot back up. Please note, while on-site, volunteers will be required to wear a facial covering. Facial coverings are not required while on-water.
The following people should all remain home and cancel registration if applicable: Immunocompromised or at-risk individuals Anyone who has been exposed to someone that tested positive. Anyone who is following direct recommendation from their health-care provider to self-quarantine.
