Crooked Smile is an annual event proposed by the Student African American Brotherhood, geared as a display of appreciation to the women on campus. The event is aimed toward but not limited to African American women. Crooked Smile is inspired by the lyrics and title of musician J. Cole’s song, created as an ode to all women to emphasize their inner beauty and importance in his eyes. By borrowing its name we also aim to display its end.

As an organization dedicated to building better brothers, appreciating our women are a logical step in the achievement of this end. This is, in essence, community service in the form of entertainment for the student body.

The program was designed with the intended purposes of:

1) Showing the young women that they are valued and appreciated at the university.

2) Acting solely for their benefit and pleasure for the duration of the event.

3) Creating a pleasant and entertaining atmosphere for the women present during the event.

Volunteers will help with set-up, clean-up, help distribute food, etc.
