About
Explore while you clean up around Slaughter Creek Tributary!
Learn more about Conservation and stress physiology while talking to Biologists. Learn about our new South Austin Creek Alliance where we focus on protection and preservation of urban waterways and their surrounding ecosystems.
Join us to reduce the trash and litter in this urban-wild space. Removing litter left on the ground prevents it from being picked up by stormwater runoff during the next rain event where it will end up in Slaughter Creek and beyond.
As always, keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately. Closed-toe shoes are your best bet. Long pants and long-sleeved shirts may be preferred and you might also consider a hat. Be sure to BRING A WATER BOTTLE and apply sun screen if needed. But the stream area is pretty shaded.
We will be meeting in front of the Bathrooms on the edge of the parking lot at Mary Moore Searight Park meeting spot at 9am.
We have Gloves and 5 "grabbers" so bring some if you have them. You will be joining thousands of other well-intentioned volunteers to help clean up Austin's treasured green spaces! Volunteers get the satisfaction of giving back and of course, an AWESOME It's My Park Day t-shirt designed by local artists!
Project registration will be very limited so please only register if you are certain you can participate. If something changes between your registration and the event, please let us know so we can open the spot back up.
Thank you so much for joining us on It's My Park Day!

I am just doing this for my first time, but plan to get more creative in future events.
