About
There are over 30,000 children and youth in LA County’s child welfare system. Many have been removed from their homes and find themselves in the complicated world of foster care. Without the proper support, less than half of these children will finish high school and a significant number will end up homeless or incarcerated. These children need the support of community members like you.
CASA of Los Angeles mobilizes community volunteers to advocate for children who have experienced abuse and neglect. The first step toward becoming an advocate is attending an information session. Come learn how you can join a community of volunteers making an invaluable difference for children in foster care. Learn more or sign up for an information session at www.casala.org or by calling 323-859-2888.
There are a few restrictions to becoming a CASA volunteer. A CASA volunteer cannot be:
• Involved in or a party to a dependency court matter.
• Approved as a Resource Family (even if there are no currently approved children living in your home) or pursuing adoption through the County of Los Angeles.
