Girls on the Run, a non-profit after school program for 3rd-8th-grade girls, is looking for volunteer coaches to help deliver the upcoming program. Each season we identify and select a dynamic group of coaches to lead each of our teams of 8-15 girls. There are two coaches per team of girls. Coaches are parents, teachers, school administrators, college students and other community members who are committed to developing and celebrating our girls. The 10-week program is held at various elementary and intermediate school sites in Washington County. The fall program is set to begin September 11 - December 16.On average, head and assistant coaches spend about 4-6 volunteer hours per week while coaching.
Coaches help girls build their confidence, set big goals, and work toward their dreams. Coaches do not have to be runners! Girls on the Run is NOT a running program, rather, we use running as a tool to inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind.
