OPEN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Dobie Middle School/Gus Garcia Tree Day!

Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 from 9:00am to 12:00pm (CT)

About

Join your friends, neighbors and fellow park-lovers as we give back and learn at Dobie Middle School and Gus Garcia Park!

Parks and Recreation's Urban Forestry Division plants trees strategically in parks and schools across Austin. Trees go a long way to improving the experience and health of a park, and we need your help caring for them! They recently planted trees at Dobie and Gus Garcia, we mulched the Gus Garcia trees this summer and now we'll mulch them all! The day will culminate with a Tree Walk led by Jesse Nuemann from Urban Forestry at Gus Garcia.

We will provide tools, gloves, music and fresh, cold drinking water - PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WATER BOTTLE, in order to reduce waste. We will also provide KIND bars for snacks!

We look forward to having y'all out at Dobie! We will meet at the football field just east of the school. Keep an eye out for the official APF truck, see the map for a visual: https://goo.gl/maps/DYDi6y7K5BB2
