Miriam's Kitchen

About

Miriam's Kitchen is committed to ending chronic homelessness in Washington, DC by establishing meaningful relationships with people experiencing homelessness, connecting them with permanent supportive housing and ensuring they have the necessary support to remain in housing.

Volunteers help to prepare and serve healthy, nutritious meals or distribute clothing and toiletries to our guests. Volunteers also help with behind-the-scenes tasks of creating coffee packets, sorting items in our clothing closet or sorting the mail. All volunteer roles are in person - we don't have virtual volunteer jobs.

Miriam's Kitchen is open Monday - Friday and closed on the weekends.
We are located at 2401 Virginia Avenue, NW - inside Western Presbyterian Church.
Morning shifts are from 6:00-8:30 am and afternoon shifts are from 3:00-5:30 pm.

To get started, email MK Volunteer Manager, Martha Wolf at Volunteer@miriamskitchen.org
After watching a virtual volunteer orientation, you will be able to schedule shifts in our online scheduling system.
