Volunteering for Veterans

About

"If there is anyone who deserves to have his pathway made smooth and pleasant, it is the old soldier who was ever ready to sacrifice his life in defence of his country."
- General Winfield Scott, AFRH Founder (1786-1866)

The distinguished military Veterans at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, D.C. make up a unique population of senior citizens, many of whom have served internationally and during the conflicts of WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf War. The mission of the AFRH is to provide a premier retirement community with exceptional care, extensive support services, and an abundance of recreational and leisure activities for our nation's heroes.
The Armed Forces Retirement Home relies a great deal on community support to fulfill our nation’s commitment to its Veterans.  We thank you for your interest in maintaining positive morale on our campus and helping us achieve our mission of providing a special community for our nation’s Veterans!
