Sigma Delta Tau

About

Sigma Delta Tau was founded on March 25th, 1917 at Cornell University and our motto is “Patriae Multae Spes Una”, meaning “One Hope of Many People”. Sigma Delta Tau aims at promoting academic achievement, building leadership skills, instilling a sense of philanthropy, and creating a lifetime bond of friendship. SDT at GW hosts multiple philanthropy events a year such as Sig Delt Soccer, Trunk Shows, EAT Late Bake Sales, and Sig Delt Sweetheart, among others. Our largest philanthropy is Sig Delt Soccer week, which includes events like bake sales, profit shares, penny wars, EAT your way through DC and our final event, the soccer tournament. Every fraternity and sorority participates in this week and it is a great way to meet other Greeks! All of our fundraising goes directly towards our national philanthropies, Prevent Child Abuse America and JWI.

While adroitly balancing academics, philanthropy, and all of our individual interests, the sisters of Sigma Delta Tau all have one thing in common… our love for SDT. From our unforgettable formals to our annual date parties, the girls of SDT love to have fun together! Inter-Greek relations are very important to the sisters of Sigma Delta Tau as well. We love to hold philanthropy and social events with other chapters in the Greek community. All of our events create life-long, everlasting memories with both our sisters and friends
