Food Recovery Network

About

Description
The GW Food Recovery Network focuses on eliminating food waste and hunger by collecting perishable foods that would otherwise be thrown away from GW-related and external events and restaurants. We currently donate the leftover food to either the Central Union Mission, a men's rehabilitation and emergency shelter in Northeast, DC, or the GW Food Pantry located in District House. Members of FRN provide all collection materials, such as containers, gloves, and thermometers, and directly transport the food via Uber and Lyft. FRN aims to combat the high levels of both food insecurity and food waste on the GW campus. We are always looking for volunteers so reach out, we would love your help!
