1.) The showcase presentation that was most impactful to me was one of a student who went to Matha’s Table and talked about how it’s important to open up to the people you are serving with and the people you are serving to truly get the full experience of a community service event. This was most impactful to me because while volunteering, I felt the same way and hearing someone else reciprocate this idea was amazing.
2.) Of the six sessions, I attend the panel led by Sejal. I learned that as students at GW we have so many resources to pull from and that we really should be taking advantage of everything the university provides to actively try and make a change.
Question #1
The showcase presentation that was most impactful to me was the one where three film students showed us their documentaries. This was impactful because I was moved by their passion for filmmaking and how they created films on topics that meant a lot to them on their own time and were willing to share them with us and discuss them.
Question #2
Of the six sessions, I went to Sejal's panel. Something new that I learned about community engaged scholarship was the breadth of resources and assistance that the university provides to help us make a difference.
Symposium Questions for Class Credit
Question #1 Which showcase presentation was most impactful to you and why? (Be sure to upload a picture)
Question #2 Which of the six sessions did you attend from 2:30-3:30? In your session, what was something new your learned about community engaged scholarship?
Q1: Catherine Le's "the experience I gained from volunteering at Martha's Table"is most impactful to me, because I worked with this organization as well. I totally agree with what Catherine said about this experience, which, specifically, is that as business school students we are responsible for the whole community, and we are supposed to help others as much as we can. Q2:I attended food waste session. I learnt that many people suffer from filling the belly. However, we wasted a lot food inevitably, and we should refrain ourselves from this. — Ziyu Liu Ziyu Liu on April 26, 2019
