Common Good City Farm

About

Common Good City Farm is a model of sustainable urban agriculture committed to food justice and educating about healthy lifestyles. Students will work with Common Good City Farm to assist at events and create a social media plan. Specifically, we are interested in students researching articles/ blog posts/ other resources about food justice, racial equity, farmers of color, agriculture and climate change, etc that we could share.

CGCF actively engages all members of our diverse community and creates opportunities for connection, contributing to the vibrancy and sense of place in our community. With an emphasis on producing food for community members, CGCF demonstrates intensive, small-scale sustainable urban agricultural practices and participates in all parts of the food system, including: food production, processing, distribution, consumption and waste management. CGCF creates and models best practices that are replicable. Since January 2007, CGCF has provided over 10 tons of fresh produce to the community, engaged over 2,700 adults and 4,500 young people in educational programs, and hosted over 3,000 volunteers
