About

CancerLINC

The mission of CancerLINC (Legal Information Network for Cancer) is to ease the burden of cancer for patients and their families by providing assistance, education, and referral to legal, financial, and community resources. We realize our mission by connecting local cancer patients with attorneys, financial professionals, and others to help these patients address the problems they face – end-of-life planning, housing issues, bankruptcy, debt problems, insurance denials, employment security, and similar situations. Those clients who meet HUD guidelines for low income receive these services for free; while those who exceed income guidelines are provided with referrals to our network of professionals.

The Legal Information Network for Cancer (LINC) was founded in 1996 by two local attorneys, Phyllis Katz and Ann Hodges (both cancer survivors).  In 2016, LINC became CancerLINC to differentiate itself in the local community.  Over the span of 22 years, the organization has helped more than 10,000 clients and their families. CancerLINC is based in Richmond and primarily serves Greater Richmond, Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, and 13 surrounding counties, as well as clients who are being treated in the Greater Richmond healthcare facilities.
