About

AMCP mission and vision: AMCP applies clinical evidence and economic principles to help patients access safe and cost-effective medication therapy.

AMCP Student Pharmacist chapter furthers the purposes of AMCP through educational and community service, provide opportunities for professional growth, and promote managed care pharmacy within the school.

Managed care looks at the practice of pharmacy through the lens of economics, making sound financial decisions regarding patient care and specializing in cost saving strategies to optimize reimbursement for services. Managed care pharmacists make formulary decisions to improve patient outcomes and impact patient care at the population level by making formulary decisions.

  • Formulary management
  • Drug Utilization Review (DUR)
