Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program (KDSAP) is a student-run organization that partners with physician volunteers and community members to provide free kidney screenings and health education to underserved populations. KDSAP's goals for community outreach are to identify risk factors of kidney disease, which will lead to early referrals and to prevent the development of kidney disease. These KDSAP screenings are not intended to treat, but rather to educate the community and raise the awareness of kidney disease. KDSAP members may participate in community outreach and organize kidney health screenings and medically underserved communities. Members also have opportunities to develop leadership skills through the organization and management of screenings.
