Quote of the day from Gracie during inquiry: "Oh, I know what Social Services is. They arrest people." Wonder what made her say that... funny coming from a 7-year-old but a little concerning too.
Quotes of the day from Gracie: "Man, my socks are soaked and hard to get back in my shoes. It's like sock-ageddon!" "I am the queen of math!" "We are twinning again, Maggie!" (That last one is because we both love to wear our unicorn hats, and today the color of my scarf matched the color of her hat.) Gracie is getting better at academics but is becoming extra squirrelly in the classroom and is pushing boundaries with teachers and tutors. May be because of burnout.
So fun, as always! Gracie is independent about what she chooses to do with her playtime at recess, but once she's decided what she will play, she is always inclusive with other kids who want to join her, no matter if she knows them or not. We are really getting comfortable with each other and have started goofing off during class which may be troublesome for the teacher, but we sure have a great time!! She had a rough patch today when she was worried about not scoring well on her points sheet, so I made matching "heart phones" out of construction paper so she could "call" me anytime over the weekend; it was a big hit. Very sweet :)
Rearranged my time to see Gracie today since I had a wacky schedule, so finally got to see her during reading time! She is still squirrelly during lessons and tutoring, but reading is totally improving. Great to see!
