I really enjoyed my experience with the women homeless holster. I worked on the third floor with 54 women where we helped serve all of them chicken quesadillas and beans for dinner. One thing that really stuck out to me was a deaf person came in and when she found out I knew sign language she got so excited because no one in the homeless shelter knows sign language or is deaf. I had really good time helping the community and would really love to go back again

The SOME community is so welcoming and appreciative. A lot of fun!
It was a really interesting experience. It made you realize how lucky and grateful you are to have a roof above your head and food in your belly. It was truly an eye opening experience that I will never forget.
At The Store, we would move food products from the parking lot of District House to The Store which is located in the basement of District House. We would then unpackage the food products and organize them on the shelves. All food that wasn't put on the shelve would be put into the refrigerator. If we weren't organizing food we would be cleaning The Store. This would consist of sweeping the floors or wiping down the inside of the refrigerator. It was a great experience and would recommend it to anyone.
