I really enjoyed watching different presentations at CHI day and seeing the variety of people that attended and presented.
A truly great experience where I visit Mrs.Pierre's 5th grade class at Bruce-Monroe elementary school, a bilingual school. I help the kids read and write in Spanish and teach them how to develop essays.
It was a great experience to table for GW SASA at CHI Day. I got to see a woman who I work with at The Family Place because they were also tabling!
The workshop for SASA went really well, and we received some messages afterwards expressing interest in getting involved.
I volunteered in the Workshop Room with DC Bilingual and the Citizens Climate Change Lobby. I really enjoyed getting to learn more about how to become part of the sustainability community in DC and learn more about how the lobby lobbies in a unique way--a more person to person conversation about climate change and how it affects us.
I had a great time volunteering at the Chavez•Huerta•Itliong Day of Celebration. I got there at 9:30 and spent most of my time in the room that detailed to the story through multiple lessons. I also helped elementary school children with coloring and making origami cranes. After that, I helped move the material into the closing ceremony room. It was a great experience all around and learned a lot about the Filipino culture.
Cleaned up and broke down the event. Worked with others to move supplies over to the grand ball room
