This was my third time volunteering at DC Central Kitchen, I chopped tomatoes and met a lot of interesting people who were also volunteering as a group.
My second time volunteering at DC Central Kitchen involved a lot of hard work, I sorted vegetables, carried crates, helped prepare bean chili and washed the steam kettles.
I served food to the guests
I loved serving here again. Met another group of amazing people and had a good time helping make food. I love the DC Central Kitchen and would suggest it for everyone!
A really amazing experience I have done it once before, it is a great feeling to help those less fortunate by packaging food and cleaning materials in the kitchen to make the professionals job easier.
I cut apple slices, served drinks to the guests, and cleaned the kitchen
I got the chance to work with DC Central Kitchen once again this morning. It was a different experience than I have had before because I was able to work the morning shift today rather than the night shift. It was an interesting change as I was working with different supervisors, and therefore was able to hear different opinions on what the impact of DC Central Kitchen means to the workers there. It was nice to once again know that this food is going to underprivileged people all over DC, which was nice to have as a motivation to get the job done. It was an amazing experience getting to volunteer at DC Central Kitchen over this summer, and I am looking forward to continuing my work here in the rest of my time in DC.
I mixed some cake batter, served the guests, and cleaned the kitchen
I had a great time helping out with very kind people from a wider circle. Rachel makes the volunteer experience all the more better.
I got the chance to work with DC Central Kitchen again tonight. I spent my volunteering time making beef stew after chopping the fat off the meat and chopping potatoes. It was nice to once again know that this food is going to underprivileged people all over DC, which was nice to have as a motivation to get the job done. It was an amazing experience getting to volunteer at DC Central Kitchen as all the supervisors were very kind and welcoming. I am glad that I got to do more hours at this fantastic organization, and I am looking forward to doing more service hours here in the future.
Once again, I loved serving here. We made amazing beef stew this time and had a great time doing so.
I enjoyed the opportunity I was given with giving back to a non-profit that is truly life changing.
I stocked Food and helped distribute meals out to various people and families within the Southeast D.C. community.
Being able to be hands-on in a project where we got the ability to feed people in need was an amazing experience.
They usually require to attend an orientation, but made an exception for me. I went earl in the morning and helped served breakfast to the homeless and helped prep meals for later in the day. It was nice to see how greatful people were.
I had a good time chopping bell peppers at DC Central Kitchen, I met new people and it was an interesting experience overall. I will be returning later this week.
