Really enjoyed the presentation and restoration methods. Looking forward and going to the site and researching the papers it's allbased on.
Very enjoyable. Anna gave a particularly good presentation and makes the information very understandable.
Great course, awesome presenters. Showed the basic research and science, crafting a realistic plan that works, and access to a streamlined administrative process.
National Public Lands Day: invasive species removal in Blunn Creek Nature Preserve. Difficult but fun work!
It was interesting to see this creek after seeing it several months ago because so much has grown. I picked up trash with another club I'm involved in, and it was a great opportunity to help clean up such a beautiful part of Austin.
I picked out weeds with an organization called GeoFORCE, and it was a great chance to see how the creek has grown. I really love doing outdoor activities, so this was a great chance to give back to the environment.
For this event I had the opportunity to volunteer at Oakwood Cemetery. We helped in picking up trash and leaves. However, the moments I enjoyed the most was hearing the organizers' stories in regards to the cemetery 's history. In addition, my TIP mentor group was able to create a stronger bond as an outcome of this event.
Worked with Brian Litke at the Wells Branch Disc Gold course. Picked up trash and helped spread mulch.
Our original cleanup location was at the Williamson Creek East Greenbelt, but no one else showed up so I selected another location; Republic Park downtown. We spread mulch along the base of all the trees in the park, cleaned out the flower beds and pulled invasive weeds from the garden. What a wonderful experience! The group I worked with all worked very hard the entire time.
