It was my first time volunteering at the concho garden. A group of friends and I arrived and received a mini orientation and what were the goals for that day. We decided to go to the garden and dig up the wood beams surrounding the beds, since they were old and worn out. Then, we helped transport them to a dumping location on university property. It was a lot of fun.

I got to talk to prospective UT students and interact with other people that also are apart of SHARE volunteers through the Admissions office.
While rushing for Alpha Kappa Psi, we had a philanthropy event where we wrote letters to students to student with terminal illnesses. Just to make them happy and let them know people care about them.
I enjoyed meeting and getting to know other people within ULN, and to package up the bags for the homeless people. I got there, and it was pretty organized, but it was upsetting that we ran out of supplies really fast, but hopefully in the future there will be more commitment for a huge event like this.
It was a bit unorganized, and it involved the people there to step up and figure out how to handle the situation. I understand it was a last minute event as well, but in the end I was happy that we got everything organized and prepared for the people that suffered from the floods near that time.
I volunteered to help move the food on November third, from ULN to the Hope Food Pantry. It was a bit disorganized, but it was also last minute which could have been the reason for lack of organization. Many freshmen and I showed up to the pantry and didn't know where to go, who to talk to, and left waiting for one of the mentors to show up. However, in the end, we organized ourselves to get all the food sorted for the pantry.
