Continued mulching the trail by the volleyball courts. I got to the picnic tables---next week I'll mulch around the tables and large oak tree---then continue on the trial.
Continuing trail maintenance near volleyball courts---almost finished off one of the mulch piles. I picked up some trash near picnic tables. There is ragweed in the area, but it's gone to seed.
Back at the mulch piles near the volleyball courts. I filled 25 wheelbarrows to continue mulching the path.
I decided to tackle the mulch piles by the volleyball courts. It took me 3 hours to move 20 wheelbarrows to the far end of the trail. I'd say I moved 1/3 of one pile (there are 7 large piles). I'll be back.
I was able to remove a patch of ragweed near the dog park (Shoal Creek Blvd) before the rain came down.
Ragweed removal along the creek and near the dog park area on Shoal Creek Blvd.
I watered trees along the trail, from Shoal Creek Blvd. to a little past Janet Fish bridge, and I pulled ragweed near 29th street.
I watered a bunch of plants/trees and pulled some ragweed in the dry part of the creek near Janet Fish bridge. I was going to get the ragweed at Shoal Creek Blvd---near the parking area----but someone beat me to it (great minds think alike).
I watered 3 redbuds near Shoal Creek Blvd. Then, heading north---2 patches of transplanted inland sea oats, 3 tiny oaks between SC Blvd. and Janet Fish bridge, and 3 small trees near Janet Fish plaque. I wanted to water 6 small palms near the bridge, but I was too tired. I cut a patch of ragweed near the David Deming sculpture (I didn't leave the 3-6 inch stumps). I accidentally whacked a hornets nest---no stings, but that was my signal to quit. Next week, I'll remove ragweed either north or the DD sculpture or along Shoal Creek Blvd. I'll also water sad trees that haven't had the water bags installed yet.
