Solo clean-up at Rogge -> Manor -> Sweeney. I picked two bags of trash and one bag of recycling. I wanted to do this solo just for the experience. I am registered for the Airport Blvd between 45th and 51st next week too. I would like to always use compostable bags but the ones I used from my supply were a little too flimsy. I know they are more expensive, but I really don't want to contribute more plastic in the environment. I'd rather fund my own bags even if they have to be doubled and are more expensive.

It was a good group and we got a lot done both weeding the gardens and trash pickup along the creek. And we got some unexpected help from some mermaids!

Poor turnout made the job harder but it is good to work with good people.

I enjoyed the information but the lecture was a little long (most of the Saturday-morning-after-partying-Friday-night college students were snoozing through much of it). I liked the considerations for what can be done in both commercial and residential settings. Cost is a big factor to many of us so it might help to have a layout of "You can do these things for <$100 ...", "For $100-$500, you can do this...", "For $500-$1000 you can do this...", etc.
