    MAN 366P - Social Entrepreneurship I (04750) - Fall 2019

    Attended first day of class (Syllabus Week). Overall great experience in getting to know my professor and peers. I initially expected the entire class to comprise McCombs people but fortunately there were other people outside of Business which is a breath of fresh air for me — I am a Finance senior. I enjoy a diverse class because we will have a myriad of different opinions which will help with our learning.

    Aaron Hanie and I went to Austin Retirement and Nursing Center to personally hand thanksgiving cards to the elderly. All in all, it was pretty difficult knowing how to approach each and every retiree because we did not want to scare them off or disturb them. It was nevertheless heartwarming to spread thanksgiving joy at a more personable level. This is also my first thanksgiving.

    I drew Thanksgiving cards for the Austin Retirement and Nursing Center and as an international student from Singapore, this is my first time doing anything Thanksgiving related. I am happy that I get to have my first Thanksgiving experience giving back to the community; it does in some way give me a better sense of belonging here in Austin.

    Also, I got to practice my artistic capabilities.
