I assisted in directing prospective students and their parents to the Union from the San Antonio garage. It felt good to be a part of helping future prospects come to UT. It always feels good to help in general so this was a fun experience.
I had a great time helping at Dobie Middle School. There I was able to help paint the library. My group painted the middle school red, blue, and grey to help depict a comic book theme. It was fun and a challenge to paint without getting paint anywhere else.
While volunteering for DHFS, I provided incoming freshman and their parents with directions to places they needed to go to. I also held open doors for people who had their hands full. Lastly, I helped some students and parents with take their items to their dormitories.
I volunteered at a family event for Hospira. There I was in charge of of the carousel moon jump and the children in it. I spent 4.5 hours (12:30-5) making sure only 4 children were in the moon jump while making other children wait in line. Tough task but managed to do it while enjoying myself. I then spent 1.5 hours (5-6:30) after the event to help bring down the moon jumps that were set up. I helped deflate them and roll them up.
