Impacts
The placement of trail guides was not very organized (although a lot of that likely had to do with our trail captain, Kevin). It would be nice to assign 2 people to cover 2 displays. That way there was still a sort of team aspect. 4 hours by yourself in 30 degree weather can get pretty sad and lonely so it would be nice if you had a partner (I know getting enough volunteers to have 2 people per display would be really difficult though).
Set up the finish line and cheer on runners and direct them as they finished the 5K.
I had a great experience! Last year was not the best experience and this year seemed so much better organized. I wish there had been unisex shirts (but I know that's a personal thing and a lot of people appreciate gender specific cuts). I would have liked a little more signage to find volunteer parking/check-in. Thanks for the opportunity! It was (super cold, but) GREAT! :)
