W helped out with the National Girls and Women in Sports Day here at GW at the Health and Wellness Center. We brought gymnastics equipment so we could help the girls understand the importance of staying active through gymnastics and many other sports. We set up about 8 stations where the girls were able to participate in gymnastics.
We bought, wrapped, and sorted gifts that we gave for Give A Gift. These gifts were sent to children of families in need, and it reminded me of how lucky I truly am and how I can contribute in helping others.
On Saturday 11/17, we helped set up the gym in the Smith Center for two hours. On Sunday 11/18, we helped break down the gym in the Smith Center for 2 hours.
At our Chantilly exhibition, we spoke to the team girls about the importance of staying with the sport, and working hard. There were 75 gymnasts/parents that we broke up into 9 groups and we talked about resilience, hard work, team work, and nutrition.
I volunteered for the organization Dreams For Kids DC. I was able to help kids with disabilities learn about science and math through games and activities.
Colonial Harvest. As a team we went food shopping for items to make 5 baskets. We sorted the items into the baskets and delivered them to smith.
We had Peabody Preschool come to the gym and talked to the kids about exercising, eating healthy, and ways to be active.
Worked the registration and donations desk for the Walk off Parkinson's event.
Freshman day of service. Cleaned the River.
