Today we painted and created signs for the community garden!
Today, I worked on creating a bulletin board for the Food and Wellness program about what it does and lead my service group!
Today we helped record the data from the compost and food waste tracker, organize the shed, water the garden, and create bulletin board material for the food and wellness program.
Today I helped in the school garden and with the nutrition and food waste posters for the cafeteria, so that Daniel and the students can keep track of how much milk is tossed and what can and cannot be composted.
I loved gardening today with the students!
I helped paint signs, cook with the students during their lesson, and work in the kitchen. It was really fun and I loved that I was able to practice speaking Spanish with the staff members in the kitchen.
I volunteered in the Workshop Room with DC Bilingual and the Citizens Climate Change Lobby. I really enjoyed getting to learn more about how to become part of the sustainability community in DC and learn more about how the lobby lobbies in a unique way--a more person to person conversation about climate change and how it affects us.
I love DC Bilingual! This week, I worked on creating Spanish posters for the salad bar, building a storage container for the garden, and cleaning up the garden.
