I volunteered at the Fayetteville Town Center on Friday, November 15 for the Fayetteville Half Marathon. I was able to organize and pass out gift baskets for the runners the day before the race. I also helped out with passing out snacks to the venders who were advertising their products for the day. It was so fun because I got to talk with all the venders and meet new people. One vender was advertising his spa essentials, while giving free massages so this was also a perk of volunteering here!

Serve A Meal at Fayetteville Shelter

serving meals to those in need is something that I am so passionate about and have been doing since my freshman year of high school. I am so happy to be continuing this act throughout my college career as well!! I was able to meet so many people and get to talk with them about their stories. They put so many things in perspective and how grateful I should be for what I have . I i’m really going to try to do this every Friday because it’s something that I really truly enjoy !

I volunteered at the Brookstone Assisted Living Center in Fayetteville, Ar on March 1, 2019. It was the first day of Moms weekend so she came with me too! During my time at Brookstone I was really able to interact with the residents living there and get to know them even if some of them had a hard time hearing me! We played games, talked about traveling, school, and what our favorite ice cream was. After 30 mins, it was time for an afternoon snack where we passed out nuts and juice to all the residents. I was a volunteer at my local nursing home in high school because this is something that I love to do! If there is ever another volunteer opportunity to go to Brookstone I would be more than happy to go again.

I attended the night to shine event at cross church college on Feb. 8, 2019. This is a non profit organization created by Tim Tebow where students around the community gather together and host a prom for the life skills kids! This event seriously brought me so much joy. I was involved in a Life Skills organization in high school where we got to interact with the kids and get to know them a little better so this has been something that I have been so passionate about for a long time. I was able to walk around the event, talk with the kids about themselves, help out around the church and dance with life skills on the dance floor. I have always heard of Night to Shine but never really knew exactly what it was about so I am so very fortunate that I was able to be apart of this special night for the kids. I will definitely be doing this again next year!

Habitat For Humanity Of Washington County

I volunteered for Habitat for Humanity in Washington County on November 9, 2018. I have always wanted to volunteer for Habitat fo Humanity so I'm so happy that I finally had an opportunity to! During these two hours, I was able to help build a house for someone in need. I was too scared to use a nail gun so instead I just hammered nails with an ordinary hammer. I also helped moved wood to the other side of the house to help create a format for what was to come. Helping those in need always holds a special place in my heart so I am so fortunate that I was able to sign up for something so impactful. I would definitely sign up for this service event again because I find so much joy in helping the community!

The Jones Center - AR - Springdale

I volunteered at The Jones Center for an Arkansas Hockey game on November 2, 2018. My friend Hadley and I went to The Jones Center in Springdale for a hockey game against Colorado University. I had never been to one so the whole concept was new to me! Hadley and I got to sit in the penalty box and let players in and out if they got a penalty. In this short amount of time I learned so much about hockey. Apparently it is not a penalty to push the opposing team against the wall. I thought it was funny when both teams would smack talk each other ( this was literally the whole game hahahaha). Hockey is not like any sport I have ever watched but it is so interesting! I would definitely volunteer at the Jones Center again.

    9/11 Memorial Blood Drive

I volunteered at the 9/11 blood drive in the version ballroom for 1 hour on September 11, 2018. I was able to check people in and out of the blood drive while sitting at the front entrance of the ballroom. I met many really interesting people who worked there and was able to hear their story at how they founded the memorial blood drive and what prompted them to want to volunteer. I had a great experience doing this and was able to really learn about this non profit organization.
