My sorority Sigma Kappa and I volunteered by helping the residents make paper pens. It was so much fun especially seeing all their designs!
This was a great experience to help the nursing home residents have a great start to fall. I helped Gladys and Rhonda paint a pumpkin, and it was great seeing them on the hayride! I'm glad I could meet such great people.
We packed up bags, and we sorted out pamphlets for counties. I went with my sorority Sigma kappa!
I was able to chaperone the Team Jesus end of summer outing at my hometown's zip-line. It was a great time where the kids could really chill out before the nice weather went away. I'm glad I could be apart of such a great organization where these kids can come together.
Today we learned about the library and what it has to offer. The little buddies played all activity with the relia the library has for its students to use. The craziest thing the library had was a tarantula! My little buddy liked the code building mouse game the most.
Today we learned about what it's like to be a firefighter! My little buddy tried on all the gear and loved walking around showing everyone. Then they were allowed to get in the fire truck and it was so cute seeing them pretend to be firefighters!
Today we went to the Art Museum and the little buddies traveled to Asia, Africa, and Muncie! We looked at the Bicentennial exhibit of Muncie and other areas. It was a lot of fun, and my little buddy really liked trying to find the meaning behind the paintings.
I volunteered at the literacy night with Dr. Stefanski. It was great seeing all the students I have taught or gotten to know at South View. Plus I met their parents too which was really good. I enjoyed working in the kindergarten room where they read Dr. Seuss books, and then they decided which book was the best (Green Eggs and Ham or Cat in the Hat).
We learned about sign language today and how to be inclusive in friend groups with people who might have a hearing disability. My little buddy and I had fun learning the alphabet and different words they sign. Also, we spelled out her name in sign language.
We learned about Ball State's Dance Marathon which was a lot of fun. I helped my little buddy learn the dance that the Moral team makes. We learned about where the money goes and how Dance Marathon helps Riley Children's Hospital.
