I volunteered at the Rogers Senior center from 9-12:30. This consisted of checking the older adult's blood pressure and checking to see if they were at risks for any falls. I thought this was actually so fun because they LOVE to talk and show you around the senior center and tell you what they normally do or if you should join the racquetball team and what not. It felt rewarding in general to just go and help that community but also serve as a friend and just be someone who they need to talk to and listen for the time being.
I got especially close to one of the members a part of the Roger's Senior center. She was fighting breast cancer and needed a lot of help getting around so one day so I went over and spent the day helping her with some of her regular activities that she couldn't really do much of. This just consisted of getting food for her, helping out with her dog, getting her in and out of the bathroom and such. It was a great experience and it was nice to just be there for someone.
I donated to Brooklynn Warrens drive! Gave 10 dollars to help with Canopy NWA. Its a refugee resettlement camp which helps provide toiletries and reduce their own cost of helping.
