This week we had two people come in from the art department again, and we read an article about superheroes. The buddies then used a movable construction paper person to trace their super hero. They got to color it in and then name their super hero and powers they have.
I helped clean up the toys and wipe down counters. I set up cots and helped pat backs to go to sleep. After nap time I helped clean up the cots and get ready for snack time. This week I got to feed an infant and rock her back to sleep because she was fussy. I read to some children and played with them with their blocks.
We had a guest speaker come in from the art club/program and teach our buddies about illustrations. She read a book then asked the buddies the different shapes they saw in the story. After that we drew on a piece of paper then used construction paper to fill in the blank spots of their drawing.
Someone from the art program came in and taught the kids about illustrators and what they do. We also learned about different shapes and lines. The children then drew something that they have recently accomplished. After we finished the art program we played heads up seven up with everybody.
I set up cots and then once nap time was over I helped clean up the cots. I got to play with the children. Nap time was a little stressful just because some of the kids did not want to sleep but they eventually fell asleep. I also got to feed an infant some puffs and play with her.
