Took a group to a Community Art Open House, and grabbed food afterward. There were interactive art-based activities and various local young artist showcasing their work. When we grabbed food we talked about life, and what they were going through at school and at home.

Met with a couple of girls in the mentoring program. They talked about school projects, and graduating high school, potential plans for the future. They talked about working and getting jobs, thinking about college but not quite understanding the process all the way. We also talked about fun things like podcasts and movies.
We took some of the youth in our program to a local service day. We made cards for the incarcerated, kids in the hospital, did some clearing out of storage units, etc. Afterward we got food and talked to the youth about their lives and current challenges. It was a great opportunity to connect with them, and give them an opportunity to engage in positive community involvement.
