I attended the concurrent reflection session where I participated in a meaningful discussion with students from my class and another class. Professor Scully asked us deep questions like "Why should we help one another?" It was a great way to apply my service learning at DCCK to a broader idea of why we do what we do and the impact we are making.
This was my last time serving and it was nice to recognize the workers there.
I cut butternut squash and worked with chicken.
I met two young women who were volunteering through their job. It was interesting to hear why people other than students serve at DCCK.
I peeled carrots and sorted ketchup and mustard.
I was nervous that I would be the only person at DCCK because no one else in my class was signed up, but there was a whole group of students from another school.
I enjoyed volunteering at DCCK because I really saw that they needed people to help out and what I was doing wasn't just busy work.
