We started by taking the wood surroundings from the garden patches since they were rotting from the rain. We then took out plants that were already planted and then weeded the soil so that it would be easier to carry.
Although I got cut pretty bad from pulling a lot of weeds, it was nice to assist Saienara, the garden director, in cleaning up. After we cleaned up two sections of garden patches, we helped water the various plants. I also learned more of the other volunteers and the garden director. I even met someone from my home town that went to a high school not to far form where I went. It was overall a nice experience to get out of my dorm during the week and meet new people while providing a service.
