For our service project, my group and I sold hot chocolate in the Jester lobby. I worked last monday making and selling some of the hot chocolate for the sale. I was also in charge of social media for our group and I made sure students knew about our event. Our group collected about $100, all of which was donated to Austin Pets Alive! It was a difficult project, but our group was satisfied by the results.
Last friday I attended Longhorn Lights Out, where I was able to promote energy and water conservation by turning off lights in the CLA building. My group and I also talked to others on campus and informed them of the event.
This past weekend, I volunteered at the Austin Film Festival. I helped work the conferences that took place at the Driskill Hotel. My main volunteer duties included answering guests' questions, helping set up rooms for panels, and checking badges. I enjoyed the festival and look forward to volunteering again next year.
