Monthly Work Party in the garden!
We now have guidelines that allow for neighbor volunteer positions at the Monthly Work Party!
Luckily, there are many tasks that need doing around the garden to keep us in tip-top shape. So, don't worry if you don't have any experience with plants!
From sprucing up the walkways with fresh mulch to weeding community-use spaces like the orchard and picnic tables. There are a wide variety of tasks to choose from, which change with the season and the weather.

Based on CDC guidelines, we ask you to consider the following questions:
- Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.
- Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.

Bright Mind Enrichment (BME)
Overview:
Bright Mind Enrichment (BME) is a nonprofit dedicated to community uplift and compassionate outreach. Through our Street Care program, volunteers engage directly with unhoused individuals across New York City, offering essential supplies, emotional support, and connection to local resources.
We’re looking for volunteers who want to make a tangible difference — individuals who believe in compassion, dignity, and community empowerment.
Volunteer Roles:
Participate in Street Care outreach walks to distribute food, hygiene kits, and resource information.
Help manage donations, packing, and logistics for community drives.
Support digital awareness campaigns and storytelling efforts for Street Care.
Assist with organizing partnerships and outreach events across NYC neighborhoods.
Commitment:
Flexible schedule — both in-person and remote support options available.
Outreach activities typically take place on weekends in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Skills You’ll Gain:
Community Engagement, Outreach Coordination, Leadership, Communication, and Nonprofit Program Support.
