Gus Garcia Park - It's My Park Day!

Saturday, March 4th, 2017 from 8:00am to 12:00pm (CT)

About

It's My Park Day! is upon us once again and we need your help making sure that Gus Garcia Park is in tip-top shape :) We are in need of volunteers to help collect trash & assist in collecting brush from around the park grounds for pick-up by PARD. We will provide water, juice, and items to fuel up on i.e. donuts, fruit, energy bars, etc. We look forward to working with you & thank you in advance for volunteering -- you are greatly appreciated! And don't forget to spread the word and be sure to let your family & friends know that parks around the city are looking for volunteers!

In case of rain, projects will start one hour late. If rain persists, projects will begin at their original start time on Sunday.

Requirement Details
Remember to wear closed toed shoes, long pants, bring a water bottle, and dress appropriately for the weather. We will provide tools, gloves, and water, but if you have tools and gloves, please bring them too. We find that rakes, shovels, and wheelbarrows are often in short supply.

If you would like to bring a child, please carefully consider which project you choose. Children must be with a parent at all times.
Parking Details
If the parking lot at Gus Garcia Rec Center is full, you can park across the street at Dobie Middle School.

Is the event still happening today, or is it getting postponed until tomorrow due to the rain?
